It's a direct reference to Mark Wahlberg's rapper name from earlier in his career. However, I chose the name as an obscure reference to a cat marking its territory - "Marky Mark", e.g. the cat that marks everywhere (he doesn't do that I just thought it was funny, especially since everybody assumes it's simply a reference to Mark Wahlberg)
